In this large and seemingly infinite world of the Internet, you are likely to come across interesting tidbits daily if not, hourly most often.
I came across one such “interesting” tidbit from a friend of mine’s Facebook profile. He was prompting the url of a website called the Zeitgeistmovement and from what I can gather, they are hoping to replace the current social fabric which we have all come to adore and love (?), with something akin to a social order being based upon our relationship with the earth. I summarise very very heavily here but I think I more or less got the gist of it.
Although I can agree with the sentiment (I mean who wouldn’t want to live in a world free of crime, poverty, debt, famine and the rest), I still found their mission statement incredibly vague.
I guess I may have to do some more personal research but you do get the feeling that the human race by and large is a right old cynical lot and doubtful if open to new ideas concerning society. I mean it’s just too big a task isn’t it?
