In this large and seemingly infinite world of the Internet, you are likely to come across interesting tidbits daily if not, hourly most often.
I came across one such “interesting” tidbit from a friend of mine’s Facebook profile. He was prompting the url of a website called the Zeitgeistmovement and from what I can gather, they are hoping to replace the current social fabric which we have all come to adore and love (?), with something akin to a social order being based upon our relationship with the earth. I summarise very very heavily here but I think I more or less got the gist of it.
Although I can agree with the sentiment (I mean who wouldn’t want to live in a world free of crime, poverty, debt, famine and the rest), I still found their mission statement incredibly vague.
I guess I may have to do some more personal research but you do get the feeling that the human race by and large is a right old cynical lot and doubtful if open to new ideas concerning society. I mean it’s just too big a task isn’t it?
Which isn’t really day 1 for me, after all I am 39 years of age. So to state the obvious, I must mean day 1 for this blogging thing.
So why did I decide to start blogging today of all days? Well apart from the fact that I should be at work, but a recurring acute toothache meant that I had to wait for another doctor’s prescription of antibiotics, and plus I have had a couple of moody text exchanges with “supposed” girlfriend(?!?), I thought why not share my inner thoughts with the whole wide world. Made sense to me at the time.
Who knows, with the amount of arcane rubbish which sometimes swims around in my mind I might hit pay dirt by constructing a blog which garners worldwide attention and also provides me with an abundance of riches! As you can see, I’m getting desperate but I bet that I’m not the only one who is secretly harbouring thoughts of the same.
That being said though I think I deserve to be a millionaire. I would be such a caring and thoughtful one. Probably not a philanthropist like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet (It would depend on the lottery winnings you see), but at the very least I would see my closest friends and family alright and also give some money to charity.
Anyway, at the risk of giving out all my goodies in the first sitting, I should probably draw this to an end for now. For it is quite obvious to me that I am indeed rambling but then again, isn’t that the whole point?
